Fifty days after Easter, we celebrate the moment the Holy Spirit came rushing down like wind and fire—not just to the apostles, but for the whole Church.
Pentecost reminds us that we’re not meant to live the Christian life on our own strength. We are filled, guided, and renewed by Him.
As we move forward from the Easter season into a long stretch of Ordinary Time, our lives (and ourselves!) will continue changing too. The Spirit is the one who brings clarity and peace in times of transition, confusion, or overwhelm.
The Solemnity of Pentecost is a great reminder of this truth: all we have to do is ask Him to come into our hearts, and receive Him when He does.
Here are 3 small ways to live Pentecost today (and everyday):
-
Wear red or set the table with it // Mark the feast with bright color, even in a simple way at home.
-
Pray “Come, Holy Spirit” // Just those three words are a powerful invitation. Whisper them to yourself throughout your day.
-
Light a candle // Let it be a visual reminder that the Holy Spirit is alive in your heart.
Join us in living with full confidence that God has given us the perfect advocate, just as He promised! (See John 14:15-31)
Pray with us:
Come, Holy Spirit. Fill our hearts with Your fire. Renew what is tired, stir what has become complacent, and guide us in all that we do. May we live this day with courage, joy, and open hands to receive You.
