"How will your roots grow deeper as you grow in your relationship with Jesus?"
Dear friends,
Every year, we ask one priest to open the Every Sacred Sunday Mass Journal with a foreword. This year, that voice belongs to Father Eduardo Rivera, a Basilian priest who spends his days with college students in Houston. Fr. Eduardo loves the Mass, and he wants you to love it too. We asked him a few questions to give you the chance to get to know him better.
"Try to place yourself into the readings. Offer the Mass for something or someone in particular, and keep that intention in mind throughout."
- Father Eduardo, on what helps when Mass gets hard

More from Father Eduardo
"When life gets stormy, our deep roots in Christ allow us to trust in Him and find stability. In those moments when we feel like we are pushed and bent to our limits, we can remain steadfast with the hope that our faith brings us.
With roots connected to a source of water, a tree can withstand any drought; it can produce fruit even under some of the harshest conditions. We can bear fruit when we root our lives in the Lord."
