3 Ways to Stay Present During Advent

Happy Advent, friends!

We’re soaking up every day of this short and sweet season. As we face the busy time of Christmas drawing near, here are some ways we’re keeping things slow and prayerful during this season of waiting:

  1. Reading the Mass readings with your friends or family // With the holidays, you may find yourself traveling or spending more time with loved ones. Invite them into your weekly prayer with the Sunday Mass readings! Reflect together and share your insights.

  2. 5 minutes of silence a day // There’s no doubt — this season is hectic for most people! Make a small commitment that you can stick to, like just 5 minutes of quiet prayer a day. Find a space to escape from the noise and listen for God’s voice.

  3. Pray through small acts of love // Washing dishes after family dinner? Wrapping presents for loved ones? Cleaning up for guests visiting for Christmas? If you find yourself serving others this season, use that time to pray! Turn on some worship music and offer up your tasks for others.

Using a Mass journal at Mass every Sunday can also help us stay present and prayerful. Learn more tips for getting the most our of your Journal here.

We’re praying with you week by week!
