Ordinary Time isn’t just a filler between the “big” liturgical seasons—it’s a sacred stretch of slow, steady growth.
The Catechism reminds us:
“Christ enables us to live in him all that he himself lived, and he lives it in us.” - CCC 521
That means even the seemingly small parts of our lives—changing diapers, making dinner, going to work—are not outside the reach of holiness.
This season is an invitation to lean into the repetition, routine, and small, gradual change happening around us (and within our own hearts). Here are a few questions to take to prayer:
-
Take an honest inventory of your prayer life. What does my current rhythm of prayer look like—and what’s missing from it?
-
Where in my life am I struggling to trust God’s timing or provision?
-
What “ordinary” part of my daily life could become more sacred with intention?
-
Who in my life might God be asking me to love more intentionally right now?
-
What distractions or habits are keeping me from deeper connection with God?
Ordinary Time is where extraordinary holiness is formed—in quiet, in repetition, in faithfulness. Keep going. God is working.
