Welcome to the new year!
January begins with a beautiful Solemnity (and holy day of obligation)—Mary, Mother of God! Since we begin the year with Our Lady, we thought we’d reflect on two of her virtues that inspire us as we dream and hope for the year ahead.
Her charity // Mary was always selfless in the way she lived, from saying “yes” to God at the very beginning, to raising Jesus in his younger years, to prompting the first miracle at the Wedding at Cana. She had a way of looking outside of herself and giving generously. We hope to imitate that this year!
Her prayerfulness // Mary was noted in Scripture for “treasuring things in her heart” (Luke 2:19). She knew God very personally and constantly made room for quiet pondering of what He was asking her to do. We want to listen for God’s voice in this way, too!
Mary not only leads by example, but she also prays and intercedes for us in heaven. May we look to her for inspiration and strength as we begin this new year.
These Marian cameos help us remember and treasure Our Lady’s presence all year long. Perfect for gifting or decorating your own prayer corner!
