New logo - who this?

We have a new logo! You may have seen it around already. Today we’re sharing a little bit behind the design and how we landed on this particular image.

  • The book - We are focusing our business as a small, independent book publisher! We design, format, and distribute ESS from end-to-end (and we love it!). This process is thoughtful, reverent, and intentional. Most days you can find us tucked away in a quiet corner of a coffee shop pouring over cover samples, formatting pages, brainstorming illustrations, managing our website, contacting fulfillment centers (you get it…). We are an entirely female owned and operated small business and it is a dream come true to do this work. (And we just might have some new book ideas in the works!)

  • The botanical - To symbolize the spiritual growth and development that we hope to encourage with our products. Our goal is to create beautiful & intentional resources that invite our community into a deeper relationship with Christ. Our faith is so personal and relational, and our humble prayer is to provide resources that offer space to know God, spend time with his word, and encounter his unending love for us.

  • The Camino - The book outline is also a small nod to the road markers along the Camino de Santiago, which we walked right before our Kickstarter launched in 2017 and again in 2018. It’s basically our happy place. Before any book production or to-do lists we have always been friends, and during this time we are able to decompress and simply abide together. At the heart of this ministry is sweet sweet sisterhood. It is a dear and special memory for us and we were excited to weave this into our logo design.

About the ESS team: God brought us together as roommates in college, and we were fortunate to both put down roots in Houston, Texas, after graduation. We share the common hope that this book, a simple collection of paper and ink, may be worthy of the scriptures printed in it, and may always point towards Christ’s love.
