Our Favorite Gifts for Catholic Moms

Mother’s Day is May 8!

I don’t know about y’all, but this year has been flying! I think it may have something to do sweet baby girl who is growing up before my eyes, or maybe with the 40 degree day-to-day temperature swings in Houston (I had a moment yesterday where I thought it was November!). Whatever it is, I’m determined to slow down and take time to appreciate the moms in my life, because as we all know, moms are superheroes!

To help you celebrate Mother’s Day, here’s a list of our favorite gift ideas plus a free printable card — Happy almost Mother’s Day my friends!

Our first gift idea is the simplest - give a mom the gift of time! Whether she uses it to journal, take a drive, enjoy a cup of tea, or just aimlessly stroll the neighborhood, a few minutes alone are a gift!

1. Babysit for an hour

For the mom with young (or older!) kid(s) an offer to babysit is a guaranteed winner! Take the kiddos to the park or let them run wild in the backyard. Bonus – send her out the door with a link to this podcast episode on motherhood from Abiding Together – perfect for her to listen and return refreshed!

A Marian desktop cameo creates a moment of beauty and reflection for busy moms.

2. Marian Desktop Cameo

A beloved favorite! A desktop cameo is a perfect gift for any mom on your list. With an intricately carved image of Our Lady, this cameo is a beautiful addition to any prayer space and comes in two designs. We have limited inventory left and won’t restock until summer so we recommend ordering soon!

3. Flowers, flowers, and more flowers!

Flowers are always a good idea! This is an especially thoughtful gift for Godmothers or those longing to become moms, whether single or married. A spring bouquet is a beautiful way to celebrate the multitude of ways women live out their feminine genius. Pair this with a card to let her know you’re thinking of her or (if you have kids she is involved with) thanking her for all she does as a spiritual mother.

My Easter lilies aren’t quite blooming in time for Easter, but I hope they’ll be right on time for Mother’s Day!

This gift set includes 4 botanical prints inspired by Biblical themes of the liturgical year.

4. Botanical art print gift set

Did we mention flowers? 💙 Here’s an alternative to fresh flowers that she can enjoy for years to come! This 5x7 art print comes in a linen gift pouch and includes a sustainably sourced wood photo stand. Did you know that lavender, pictured here, is a symbol of Our Lady? Some Biblical research speculates Mary may have laid Jesus’s clothes out to dry on a lavender bush (called “spikenard” in ancient Jerusalem), imparting her motherly tenderness to a simple chore.

5. Catholic jewelry

For beautiful Catholic jewelry, Christie and I are both fans of the shop Stella and Tide. These earrings are inspired by Stella Maris, Mary Star of the Sea — gorgeous, right? The seashell necklace pictured is part of the same collection — Christie and I can frequently be found twinning when we both qwear it! The shell is a great reminder of our baptism and is special to us for it’s connection to the Camino de Santiago 💙

And a freebie! The second card in this set says “Thank you for all that you do” — perfect for mothers, spiritual mothers, and all the women that lead by their holy examples of motherhood!

As always, thank you for joining us in saying “Yes!” to God, one Sunday at a time! We’re praying for this ESS community and wish y’all a very Happy Easter!

In Him,

Kassie
